Expanding Heads Adjustment When the size reaches its lower tolerance, the head can be adjusted to compensate for wear to the cutting edges. This operation can be repeated several times until the surface finish of the hole deteriorates to an unacceptable level. Adjustment Procedure Slowly turn the right-hand threaded screw clockwise while checking the diameter setting of the reamer with a micrometer. When the required diameter is achieved, the tool is ready for use.
